Here’s how NFL players protested during national anthems on Sunday, Monday of Week 1

Football (NFL,High School,College )

NFL players had been waiting months for the return of the unique platform that is live games in front of millions of TV viewers. On Sunday and Monday, those players were able to join their professional athlete peers in protesting recent racial injustices in the United States with on- and off-field demonstrations.

The leaguewide demonstrations during the Sunday and Monday games of Week 1 were expected, especially after the Chiefs and Texans opened the 2020 season with protests of their own Thursday night. Houston remained in the locker room for the playing of the national anthem before that game, a demonstration that was repeated by a handful of NFL teams Sunday.

Basketball(NBA, College ,High School)

Steve Nash never won an NBA championship. Here’s what left him empty-handed.

We published this episode of Untitled in 2019. It details the long and illustrious career of Steve Nash, one of the greatest point guards to ever grace the basketball court, and the many reasons behind what might be his sole blemish on the resume: the absence of a championship. Growing up watching Steve Nash play and command the offense was an absolute pleasure. Even though I was not a particular fan of the Suns during the mid to late 2000s, I always enjoyed Steve Nash’s game...

How the NBA’s smart rings are supposed to detect coronavirus

Basketball(NBA, College ,High School)

Get a great deal on goggles!

As part of the NBA’s efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic while restarting their 2019-20 season, the league will give players and essential staff members the option to wear smart rings.

These rings, from Oura, will notify players if they’re within six feet of others and can potentially detect Covid-19 symptoms early. Having players wear this could feasibly reduce potential coronavirus cases while they play at Disney World. Since players will be able to explore the Orlando campus, attend movie screenings, NBA games, and enjoy the other hotel amenities throughout the duration of the NBA season, it’s important for everyone to keep a safe distance. The NBA thinks these rings could help.

Oura rings were initially marketed as sleep trackers with the ability to monitor heart rate a...
